Classroom DIY Duck Tape Project

I decided to try to give new life to a file cabinet I have in my classroom.  My teacher friend who retired  left me her file cabinet.  I always had the cabinet against the wall but decided to move it to utilize the back of the file cabinet.  I turned the back of the file cabinet into my lunch count bulletin board.  Here is a photo before and after.  A little duck tape and TLC can do wonders!  What do you think?
In the beginning!
Halfway done!
End Result!

First Day Back and Clipart to Celebrate!

Today was my first day back at work!  Summer is officially over!  Bitter sweet!  As I am working on some of my products for Teachers Pay Teachers I came across this amazing website for clipart.  The clipart she offers is for purchase but she releases one free clipart each day for download.  The sets of pages she has are bright and colorful!  Todays freebie was a volcano.

Word Clouds

I just love word clouds! You can utilize word clouds in different lesson in your classroom. You can used them to teacher your students new vocabulary, review for an upcoming test, reading comprehension, response to literature. You can have the students create a word cloud to introduce themselves the first day of school. You can used them in brainstorming a topic for writing or any other subject. The list can go on. Here are some free sites that I use to make word clouds.  I made this word cloud on Tagul.
